Students will take college readiness exams to determine progress.
In grade 8 students will take the Explore Assessment for placement ingrade 9 Math and English courses.
In 9th
grade students will take the Accuplacer or Compass Exam. Students will
be required to demonstrate college readiness by meeting or exceeding
national normed (indicates ability to succeed academically) scores on
either the COMPASS or ACCUPLACER exam to be enrolled in
courses. Students will be subject to the academic and conduct standards
of the University of Evansville, and Ivy Tech Community College when
enrolled in university courses.
In 10th grade, students will take the Plan.
Students will be encouraged to take the ACT or SAT during the 11th or 12th grade year.
Grades
Separate
transcripts will be kept. The EVSC will hold the high school diploma
pathway and Ivy Tech, and the University of Evansville will maintain the
college transcripts.
EVSC personnel will have access to the “blackboard” programs provided by the universities.
Ivy
Tech will keep parents and students informed of progress via online
tracking and reporting systems provided by the universities. UE will ask
students to sign waivers allowing parents access to grades.
