The General Studies program focuses on
students taking their first two years of college at Ivy Tech and then
transferring their credits to other colleges and universities both in
state and out of state. General Studies' students complete a core of
general education courses which include: Fundamentals of Public
Speaking, English Composition, Exposition and Persuasion, Mathematics
and Life and Physical Sciences. Also students select from courses which
include: History, Government and Politics, Psychology, Sociology and

The
program is designed to prepare you for transfer to baccalaureate degree
programs in engineering. The program curriculum will provide a strong
foundation in science, math and technology. Special emphasis is placed
on qualitative and quantitative analytical skills necessary in
engineering design and problem solving while working in a cooperative
team environment. Skills and knowledge can be applied to a wide range of
baccalaureate engineering specialties including Electrical, Mechanical,
Civil, Industrial, and Chemical engineering. The program will also
focus on the applied aspects of science and engineering.
